Van Gogh Up Close: Vincent van Gogh was an artist of exceptional intensity, not only in his use of color and exuberant application of paint, but also in his personal life. Drawn powerfully to nature, his works--particularly those created in the years just before he took his own life--engage the viewer with the strength of his emotions. This exhibition focuses on these tumultuous years, a period of feverish artistic experimentation that began when van Gogh left Antwerp for Paris in 1886 and continued until his death in Auvers in 1890.

MAYA 2012: LORDS OF TIME - leads visitors on a journey through the Maya's time-ordered universe, expressed through their intricate calendar systems, and the power wielded by their divine kings, the astounding "lords of time." Visitors explore the Maya world through interactive experiences and walk among sculptures and full-sized replicas of major monuments.
The exhibition features more than 100 remarkable objects including artifacts recently excavated by Penn Museum archaeologists from the site of Copan, Honduras.
Visitors follow the rise and fall of Copan, moving across the centuries to discover how Mayan ideas about time and the calendar have changed up to the present day. Contemporary Maya speak to their own heritage and concerns for the future.

Thousands of poinsettias, paperwhites, amaryllis and elegantly decorated trees adorn more than four acres of indoor gardens with daily and evening concerts highlighting the sounds of the season. Outside, 500,000 lights create a holiday wonderland.
