Cherry Blossom Festival

The 2012 National Cherry Blossom Festival® marks the Centennial Celebration of the original gift of the 3,000 cherry trees from the city of Tokyo to the people of Washington, DC in 1912. Come and enjoy the spirit of the season.

The Parade showcases entries from across the country and around the world. Lavish floats, gigantic helium balloons, exciting international performance groups and marching bands join in the celebration.

Time: 10am - 12 Noon, rain or shine Location: Constitution Ave from 7th to 17th Sts, NW (This tour includes a Continental Breakfast served on the coach.)

National Zoo

National Zoo: About 2,000 animals from 400 different species can be seen in indoor and outdoor exhibits throughout the National Zoo. Some of the exhibits show animals that live in the same part of the world, others highlight a variety of animals in a taxonomic group-such as birds and great apes-and others feature animals all on their own. Admission is free. Animal Exhibits are open from 10am - 6pm. Check at the Visitor's Center - near Connecticut Ave to see schedule of day's activities and films being shown

BALTIMORE - 2012
Star Spangled Sailabration

June 15 (Fri)

Star Spangled Sailabration - An international parade of ships will sail into Baltimore to launch Star-Spangled 200, the celebration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the penning of the National Anthem. More than two dozen ships, including U.S. Navy, British and Canadian "grey hulls" and tall ships from around the globe are expected for the festivities. Ships will be staged in Baltimore's famed Inner Harbor, Fell's Point, Canton and Locust Point.

Harborplace & the Gallery - Has three Pavilions and is located in the Inner Harbor. The Light Street Pavilion, the Gallery & Pratt Street Pavilion.

Also located in the Inner Harbor within walking distance are Maryland Science Center, USS Constellation, Top of the World Observation Level, B & O Railroad Museum, Fort McHenry National Monument and Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards.

The National Aquarium in Baltimore - The Aquarium is home to approximately 16,500 specimens and more than 660 species of animals. The Aquarium's two spectacular structures contain more than two million gallons of water. A complete walking tour of the Aquarium takes about 2 hours. For safety purposes, all strollers must be checked - no fee for this service. Free backpacks are available for children weighing less than 25 pounds.
